Dysphagia Awareness

The purpose of this module is to provide all individuals working in the health and social care setting guidance on how to understand what Dysphagia is, understand the signs and how to help anyone with Dysphagia.

Lone Working

Lone Working in Health & Social Care Settings – This guidance is designed to advise healthcare organisations and their staff on developing, implementing and disseminating local policies and procedures that address the needs of, and minimise the risks faced by, the many different groups of staff that may have to work alone in a diverse range of environments.

COSHH

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (2002) (amendment 2004) The purpose of this module is to provide all individuals working in the health and social care setting guidance on how to protect and minimise the risks to employees/locum workers posed by chemical materials within their current place of work.

RIDDOR

Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations – RIDDOR puts duties on employers, the self-employed and people in control of work premises (the Responsible Person) to report certain serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases and specified dangerous occurrences (near misses).

Safeguarding of Children (SOCA) Level 3

Safeguarding of Children (SOCA) Level 3 – Abuse can take place in any organisation from schools, educational and recreational centres, sports areas, places of work, places of entertainment etc. and is not solely isolated in the home or place of residency.

Infection Prevention & Control - Levels 1&2

An overview of the key elements of how to contribute and improve infection prevention and control within the health and social care setting. It is aimed at enhancing your understanding of infection prevention and control by ensuring you follow the correct procedures when dealing with infections and how to reduce the risks of exposure or contamination to yourself, your patient/service user, carers, relatives and visitors.

Equality, Diversity & Human Rights

This module has been developed to provide a good understanding and overview of the key elements of equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. It will also emphasise the importance of equality in enabling the individual to value the rights of others, including equal opportunities irrespective of beliefs, culture, values and preferences.

Manual Handling

Majority of work-related injuries are a result of poor manual handling in the workplace, with back injuries being the biggest cause of staff absence in the UK. Training in simple manual handling techniques such as how to move and handle loads safely, and learning the best practices for pushing and pulling large items can significantly reduce the risk of manual handling-related injuries.

Basic Life Support / Resuscitation (incl. Safe use of AED's)

This short course will provide an overview of the knowledge and skills required to perform basic life support to adults and are in accordance with the current Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines (2015), which have also been accredited by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.

Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) - Levels 1,2&3

Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) Level 3 – This course is intended for those staff working within health and social care or integrated and who have a designated responsibility to manage as well as investigate adult protection concerns.
